Durable, bright yellow, slip-resistant walkways built for tough mining conditions

At FMG’s Anderson Point site in Western Australia, pathways and operational zones were under pressure. Daily foot traffic, equipment movement, and shifting ground made traditional surfaces unsafe and high-maintenance. FMG needed a solution that kept teams moving safely while withstanding the demands of a busy mining environment — and the bright yellow SafetyHex® panels made the pathways highly visible, enhancing safety across the site.

The Challenge

Uneven surfaces, dust, and erosion created trip hazards and slowed operations. FMG required a pathway solution that was robust, highly visible, low-maintenance, and easy to install, capable of handling daily traffic from personnel and light vehicles.

The Solution

SafetyHex® panels were deployed across key walkways and high-traffic zones. The bright yellow, modular interlocking design created stable, slip-resistant surfaces that could absorb wear from both foot traffic and light machinery, while improving visibility in busy operational areas.

Supplied via APS Group, SafetyHex® allowed FMG to trial a small section first, ensuring the solution met the site’s rigorous requirements before scaling up. Installation was quick, modular, and adaptable to the site’s uneven terrain.
